MAPPING COMPLEXITY
In collaboration with other graduate students at SAIC, from the space of the Knowledge Lab, we collected all affiliated projects and purposes; and created a map to expose the integrations and connections between them to visualize the socially engaged results of the student-led course.

"Knowledge Lab is a course, site and community of inquiry at SAIC in which students from a broad range of disciplines engage in collaborative research and projects that can make a meaningful contribution to a sustainable future. Within the Lab, we contend with complexity and innovate through collaboration to generate new knowledge. Key texts, including Peter Lamborn Wilson’s Avant Gardening, inspire the use of our re-purposed Sculpture Garden as a metaphor to represent the growth of knowledge through collaborative and performative art practices. We incorporate information from disciplines including sculpture, writing, education, design, design, drawing, painting, architecture, film, science, craft and economics to address vital contemporary issues within culture, from those of our local community to pressing global concerns. Knowledge lab confronts the unknown with creativity, fresh perspective, and an open platform for discussion."
